Fall Wish List

Sorry for the summer of no posting. Bought quite a few amazing things this summer. Will be putting together a retrospective. In lieu of that, I'm presenting my Fall list of wishes:

Objects without Meaning - I am loving this line and just purchased the Boy jean from Frances May. Now I have my eye on the OM hi-rise skinny:
I love this top, also from Objects without Meaning:

It's hard to not want a couple things from Rachel Comey, however out-of-reach they are. This jumpsuit is sold out almost everywhere despite the $645 price tag:
This RC turtleneck sweater is beautiful and something I'd have for years. Similarly pricey at $472. Both the jumpsuit and the sweater are made in NYC so that's something to consider with the price.

This list of course would not be complete without a couple items from my friends at No.6. I am loving the new platform base - tried it on while in NYC in july and thought it was much more wearable than i would have imagined, more comfortable even than the high heel or high wedge. I am inclined toward these pretty ones in the amazing new color Fawn:
And I have been on the hunt for a nice pair of wide-leg pants. These No.6 pants are really more palazzo pants but i am still thinking about it. They are at totokaelo:

And I love the new plaids from Creatures of Comfort's fall line, especially this dress available at Bird.

I tried the top version on when I was at Frances May but the fit wasn't for me. It's a great top though and I love the plaid flannel:

More to come soon... I have some bags I am eyeing as well.

Piedmont rain boots by Rachel Comey

So on this very rainy day in the Pacific Northwest and on the heels of  Sandy the "superstorm" (this tag is laughable, by the way. thank you Weather Channel), here are some great all rubber rain boots by Rachel Comey. I have been admiring them for a while. They are a fresh update to the ubiquitous tall Hunter-esque ones that have become so humdrum.

Rachel Comey introduced this lace-up rain boot style last season as the Baxter boot but they had a functioning buckle at the ankle over the laces that I can only imagine is quite annoying unless you have a spare 10 minutes to put on your boots. The Baxter is cheaper (only $196) and it is still available in limited sizes from Totokaelo.

There is a laceless version called the Colfax, also by Rachel Comey, that is shorter and for sure easier to get on and off.  Color-wise, both the black/brown with hunter green sole and the black/navy with cream sole are nice. The green accent is much more earthy and would look great with black skinny jeans and a flannel shirt. I like the black/navy though the cream sole will get dirty; it's true but it is a more fresh color combination to have black and navy together with off-white.

The Piedmont and the Colfax are both $230. The Piedmont in black/cream is available at Totokaelo and Rachel Comey. The Piedmont in black/green is available at TotokaeloBird, and Steven Alan. The Colfax can be found at Totokaelo.

Totokaelo's new location and "wall o' shoes"

Totokaelo is one of my favorite boutiques from the days it was called plain old "Impulse". This Seattle establishment has always had some of the best styling of any online boutique as well as an amazingly wide assortment, especially in shoes (every style and color of No6, Rachel Comey and Dieppa Restrepo out there.)
Now they have moved to a new and MUCH larger location in Capitol Hill. Word is they will soon be carrying home effects as well as men's, starting spring 2013, in addition to continuing to stock great women's. I can't wait to head up to Seattle to check it out.

Rachel Comey - Bimini Boot

I love the new Rachel Comey Bimini boot. The blunt toe combined with the laces and ankle strap with cutout almost seems too much but they work perfectly. And the seventies flared wood heel is my new favorite. I hope she uses it in her fall footwear collection as well. They are $404 at Totokaelo.
