street style: Kirsten Dunst in London

the Met Ball
All Covered Up: Mary-Kate Olsen in The Row, this look is pretty shocking and monastic, it's true. But considering how tiny she is, it fit her very well and her trashy, bleached her is a great contrast to the stark dress. Kirsten Dunst sort of looked like a '30s librarian in her Rodarte ensemble (it's not even a dress!) but I still loved it. And love her pose! As much as people made fun of Angelina at the Oscars, she has started a red carpet trend of having a pose to match your outfit.
Silver Sirens: Camilla Belle in Ralph Lauren collection (I thought this was Versace) - I didn't love this dress but I liked her whole look with the hair pulled back and the dark lipstick. Lana del Rey really vamped it up in this sparkly number by Joseph Altazurra. And yes, Gwyneth did the cape first, but it must be said, capes look better in black.
Bangs with Black: Liv Tyler, I'm just happy to see you. No really, her Givenchy dress was really stunning. Liked it better than Rooney Mara's dress from the same fashion house. Marion Cotillard looked like the Frenchie she is in head-to-toe Christian Dior. Many at the met ball did the sheer skirt look but hers was the most interesting.

if only...
My friend Marti blogged recently about all of the items she would buy with infinite means. It got me thinking about the handbag that has been foremost in my mind although furthest from reality: Sofia Coppola for Louis Vuitton. This is one of the promotional photos on the LV website, no doubt shot by Sofia herself. I love the cobalt but would take any color...IF that is I could afford the absurd $4000 price tag!! Even if I could, spending that much on a bag sort of makes my head spin (especially without some CCs on it). Doesn't make it any less pretty though.
Sofia's muse Kirsten Dunst has been out and about in LA sporting it.
And then the director/designer herself at NYFW with Kirsten of course but luckily Kiki brought a different bag.
It's a really simply designed bag but like Sofia herself (and her movies) the simplicity of the design is what makes it. Would love to see it in person.
Also, check out what my friend Marti is dreaming of.
